The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles will be offering a $25 adoption rate for the month of November, the organization announced Wednesday.Qualified adopters can take home a dog, cat, or kitten during the limited-time promotion. Auto-Pedestrian Collision Near Leavenworth Street Left One FatalitySAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 1, 2023) – Late Saturday morning, a pedestrian was fatally injured following a two-vehicle crash on Post Street.Police responded to the collision around 11:10 a.m. at the 800 block of Post Street, near Leavenworth and Hyde Streets.Based on an eyewitness account, a white BMW ran past a red light and collided with a black Audi SUV. The impact of the crash caused the BMW to spin out of control and hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk.Unfortunately, the first responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. 42-Year-Old Bystander Pronounced Dead after Stolen-Car Accident near International BoulevardOAKLAND, CA (November 1, 2023) – Luciano Carmona-Garcia died Wednesday night, in a stolen-vehicle collision on High Street. Authorities responded to the scene just before 10:30 p.m., near International Boulevard on October 25th.Per reports, the driver of a stolen Kia Sorento SUV was traveling at high rates of speed east on International Boulevard. The Kia then struck a Pontiac Vibe, sending the Kia into two additional vehicles.Shortly after, Carmona-Garcia, 42, became pinned between the involved vehicles. Upon impact, both the Kia and the Pontiac driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.Medical personnel arrived and took Carmona-Garcia to a local hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. DUBLIN — A San Jose man has been charged in Alameda County with a felony after he allegedly made sexual comments to an undercover cop posing as a 13-year-old girl online, then arranged to meet the fictitious girl at an East Bay movie theater.Aldo Castillo, 27, was charged on Oct. 18 with one count of meeting a minor for lewd purposes, court records show. Castillo was arrested a week earlier outside a movie theater on the 5000 block of Dublin Boulevard in Dublin, where police say he’d arranged to meet 13-year-old “Lauren,” an undercover Dublin officer’s online persona.According to police, Castillo responded to the officer’s post on Whisper about needing a replacement hair curler with a lewd comment about exchanging a hair curler for oral sex. Stanford and San Jose State will renew their Bill Walsh Legacy Game series next year, a year earlier than originally planned, as the two schools announced they’ll face each other next season during Thanksgiving weekend at CEFCU Stadium.The schools haven’t played each other in 10 years but both announced last summer the formation of a four-game series honoring Walsh, the late, great 49ers and Stanford coach and San Jose State alum.On Wednesday, two games were added to make Stanford vs. San Jose State a six-game series, beginning next Nov. 30. (BCN) -- A woman was fatally stabbed in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood earlier this week, police said Wednesday.The stabbing was reported at 7:18 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of Leavenworth Street. Paramedics found the victim with stab wounds and took her to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to San Francisco police. Her name was not immediately available.
